Paul Horan

 -B Sc (Hons) Physics Uni. College Galway, 1984

 -Ph D Physics/Nonlinear optics, Trinity College Dublin, 1988

In 1989-1990 went as a visiting researcher to the Central Research Labs of Hitachi Ltd., Japan.. On returning to Ireland in 1990 joined the staff of the Hitachi Dublin Laboratory, situated in Trinity College, and continued research in the area of optical computing and opto-electronic devices.

Appointed to the permanent staff of the Dublin Institute of technology in May 1997 as Assistant Head of the School of Physics.

In 1999-2000 a member of the DIT New Campus Strategic Review Panel, a 6 person team analysing the future of third level education and how this will impact on DIT’s move to a new campus site.

Since 2003 Paul has been on a lengthy secondment to the newly crated DIT Campus Planning Office, involved in all aspects of the planning and realization of a new campus for all of the DIT.
